Rope Knot Necklace

So your neck can say "Ahoy!" too.

This DIY is incredibly easy and definitely in-trend with the nautical fashion craze! This necklace goes with both casual and dressy outfits.

The amazing thing that happens when one has extra rope and needs something to do with it!

Cheers,
Jacqueline

Materials
  • 3 yards of rope (if you'd like the necklace to be longer, use more)
  • Fabric glue (hot glue works also)
  • A clasp
  • Blue painter's tape

Time: 20 minutes

1. Double your rope over.

Next, lay it out on a flat surface in a circular formation.

2. Fold over the two ends to create a pretzel shape!

2.5 Become inspired and eat some pretzels. (I did this.... any excuse to eat food)

3. Tuck the two ends under.

4. Pull the two ends outwards, directly away from each other.

5. The knot you'll get will look pretty much like this!

6. If you'd like, add two more knots (just regular boring ole knots) on both sides of the fancy knot you just made to add some more detail.

7. Wrap each end tightly in blue painter's tape.

Use scissors to snip off any frayed or unraveling ends of the rope.

8. Use a healthy amount of fabric glue to connect the two ends of the rope. (Hot glue would work also)

9. While the glue is drying, elevate it off of the ground. This way, the necklace won't permanently adhere to another surface as it dries.

10. Once your other end is dry, add your clasp.

All finished!
